About

I'm Felix, a chemistry and physics teacher at a German middle school with a degree in organic chemistry. Beyond the classroom, I'm a maker, tinkerer, and lifelong learner who believes in the power of open-source collaboration and hands-on problem-solving.

Background

My professional work centers on science education, teaching chemistry, physics, and general science to students. I'm passionate about making scientific concepts accessible and engaging, which naturally extends to my personal projects and hobbies.

I first explored iOS development between 2011 and 2014 as a hobby, successfully deploying three applications. After a hiatus, I'm now revisiting mobile development with Swift and SwiftUI—not as a commercial venture, but as a personal challenge and opportunity to create tools that solve real problems.

Interests & Hobbies

I'm deeply involved in the maker movement, working with a variety of technologies and fabrication methods:

3D Printing
CNC Fabrication
Arduino Projects
Open Source Software

When I'm not at a workbench or keyboard, I enjoy motorcycle travel—combining the freedom of the open road with the technical satisfaction of maintaining and understanding the machines I ride.

Technical Skills

My programming experience spans several languages (although not proficient in any of them), each serving different purposes in my projects:

Arduino C++ Subset
Python
Swift / SwiftUI

These tools allow me to work on everything from embedded systems and automation to iOS applications and data processing.

Philosophy

I approach development and making with a straightforward philosophy: build solutions for real problems, share knowledge freely, and prioritize functionality over complexity. The applications I develop are tools first—no monetization schemes, no user tracking, just clean functionality.

As an advocate for science education and open-source collaboration, I believe in making knowledge and tools accessible to everyone who can benefit from them.
